When running your website for a while, there must be plenty of data for different points. Then, for the better marketing campaign or for your new site, you may need these data listings.

And this is why you sometimes need to export WordPress data and we’d like to introduce how to export WordPress to CSV files easily.

Here, the CVS file refers to the comma separated value file. It is a special file type that can be understood and opened by any spreadsheet programs, such as Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. Very often, you are likely to check and to edit the data using these programs. This is why the CSV export for WordPress is so powerful and popular. Even, with this file type, you feel easy to import the data to other plugins, tools, emails and even websites.

Make Use of Export WordPress Data to XML/CSV Plugin

The Export WordPress Data to XML/CSV plugin features three steps for the process of WordPress export. In addition, there is an intuitive interface that comes with a drag-and-drop function to make this complex exporting task simple, easy and fast.

With this plugin, you can migrate the content of your WordPress site to another website, export the data for easy editing, generate the WooCommerce affiliate feeds, migrate to new domain, export email addresses of your registered users and more.

To make use of it, you can follow the below simple steps.

Firstly, you need to click the All Export > Settings button. Here, you can find that the secret key and API key of this plugin are already entered. You’d better not to change them for the update requires you to re-create the existing cron jobs.

As for the secure mode, you need to tick the checkbox of Randomize Folder Names. This way, the exported files along with some temporary files can be saved in the /public_html/ folder with a randomized name.

Start the New Export

Now, you can enter the New Export section to choose the specific post type to export. The common choices include Posts, Pages, Taxonomies, Comments, Users and more. The plugin will tell you how many items will be exported after the selection. If you upgrade to the pro edition, you can even add the filtering options to select the elements, rules and values for exporting. Now, you actually already can export your target data by clicking the Migrate button.

New Export

But before that, we highly recommend you to click the Customize Export File button. Here, you can rename the CSV columns, rearrange the elements, structure your export file and do whatever you want.

Export WordPress URLs

The above-mentioned plugin cannot export your website URLs. In this case, as a complement, we recommend you to try the Export All URLs plugin. Here, you can choose the option of URLs from the Additional Data tab. And then, you simply need to choose CSV as the export type and click the Export button.
